The last few days have been a breath of fresh air in the form of civilization, decent coffee, smiling faces behind shop counters and not a single note of Banjo Patterson from the iPod.
The first few days were spent at Esperance where we drank coffee, chatted with locals, dodged the bad weather and generally caught our breath after the long road across the Nullabor. The weather was so wild, I did wonder if we might be blown away during the night.
The trip to Albany was also pretty interesting due to the wind hitting the side of the van. I was quite impressed with my driver, who managed to get me, the van, my possessions and himself all the way to Albany without mishap!
Two days in Albany catching the sights, eating the food, drinking the coffee and catching up on caravan chores. Of course one of us ate more than the other, and the size of the Sunday morning big breakfast at Emu Point Cafe was a testament to his stamina!!
So tomorrow it's on to Bunbury and a few days catching the sights, exploring the Margaret River region and hopefully the possibility of some better weather.
